I recently heard about Kampung Meratam, aka "the mud volcanoes", across the border in Limbang, Malaysia. We decided to check it out last week. After a 2.5 hour drive, we arrived, and had the whole place to ourselves! It's free entry into the park area where you can hear the "blurping" of the many little mud volcanoes. We had lots of fun slipping and sliding in the mud, and floating inside of the volcanoes. The mud is really buoyant, and it just suspends you in mid-mud. Really cool! We played for about an hour, and then spent at least that long trying to wash the mud off at the shower facilities. Lacy is the only one who didn't enjoy it, as she was crying about wanting to wash the mud off her hands. She doesn't like to get dirty these days!

You can kind of see where the "blurping" is happening... there's a spot on the right.

| Keith, suspended in the mud. He's not sitting on the bottom, although it looks like it! |

| I slid into this one. Not too gracefully, I'm afraid. |
